The method to reduce the fuel consumption of your vehicle!

In times of fuel price increase, ECO Tuning for diesel engines has become more and more important. The focus is not the optimal performance improvement, but reducing the fuel consumption. That means you can increase your fuel economy. The efficiency of the engine by optimizing the software can be reduced up to 20% -under normal driving behavior (low torque areas). This will also optimize the performance and the torque of the engine. 

When is an ECO Tuning useful?

Basically, for everyone who drives a lot of kilometers through the whole year. In general, the potential saving is at about 10 to 20%. Of course, this is also dependents on the vehicle. A BMW 530d has higher fuel consumption than VW Polo. Therefore the savings for the 530d are higher.

ECO performance optimization test of a BWM 530d Touring

The test was conducted by us over 3 months in a mix of city, countryside highway and freeway driving of 6.000km.

Fuel consumption before:

 9,2L / 100km

Fuel consumption after ECO-Tuning:

 7,6L / 100km

Fuel saving over 100km: 

 1,6 L

Over 3 years, this represents a saving of 1440€, or 40€ monthly!

 

ECO-Tuning definition

ECO-Tuning comes from the possibility to optimize the torque in the engine (via chip tuning) in a way that brings the same performance as in the beginning, with a lower number of revolutions.

The engine gets more efficient due to a higher, sooner torque and the earlier fuel-injection. When the ECO-tuning is done, it's important that the driver has the appropriate driving behavior.

You can save a lot of fuel without losing performance by changing into a higher gear earlier. The driver enjoys a better pull-through because of the engine's higher torque - that leads to a higher driving pleasure too.
